| How Do I Store My Hardwood Flooring? | | Handling & Storage Of Hardwood Flooring
To maintain a good moisture level with your hardwood flooring, don't truck or unload in the rain, snow or other excessively humid conditions. Cover with a tarpaulin or vinyl if the atmosphere is foggy or damp. Your hardwood flooring should be stored in an enclosed building that is well ventilated with weather proof windows. Leave adequate room for good air circulation around the stacks of flooring. Continual dry heat will overdry the flooring which may later result in buckled floors.

| Can I install and finish this myself? | | Absolutly! As shown in our site, one of our customers that attempted to do a job themselves furnished us with there photos of the project from start to finish...just judge for yourselves how they made such a dramtic differance in there home. Oh, did I mention, doing the work yourselves will cut the investment you will have in your home IN HALF! The average cost to have a site finished floor installed, sanded and finished is about $3 - $3.50 per square foot and our floors range from $1.99 tp $2.99 per square foot for over 80% of our choices!!!

| Still, isn't a pre-finished floor faster to put down? | | Yes and no. While its true that a pre-finished floor is down and done, the care that has to be taken while putting them down is MUCH more time consuming then a site finished floor. Remember that all you have to do is drag something accross the floor or drop your hammer on it and the pre-finished floor is scarred for life...but not so the site finished. Why do you not see pre-finished gym floors or large commercial floors? If you drop or scar a site finished floor during the installation process, no problem, keep on going...the light sanding will make them good as new.

| Isn't a unfinished floor harder to install and messy? | | No, there was a time that floors were installed and the differance in heights from board to board were up to the thickness of a quarter different. Now with new moulders and manufacturing tollarances, today's floors require only a light sanding before the fast drying and low oder finishes are applied, allowing you that 'Better Homes and Gardens' look that you never thought you could afford.
